Due to occurence of large defects before dental implantation different grafting methods should be used to make the bone adequate for implant operation. The purpose of this study is to show the healing of bone defects in young patients without grafting is unexpectedly as well as grafted defects. The Treatment of Inguinal Hernia in the Elderly: Always Local? Abstract: Inguinal hernia is one of the most common diseases in the elderly. Local anaesthesia (LA) is almost used in open inguinal hernia surgery; whereas in routine practice, regional anaesthesia (RA) or general anaesthesia (GA) is the method of choice in the elderly. Methods: A retrospective analysis of all inguinal hernia repairs performed in our hospital over a 3-year period was performed. The outcome measures were type of anaesthesia used, patient demography, co-morbidities, hernia type, hernia repair methods and hospital stay. Those who threated by local anaesthesia, recurrent and bilateral hernias and ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists) grade IV patients were excluded from the study. Use of a Cheap Bag for Specimen Retrieval during Diagnostic Laparoscopy Authored by Giovanni D Tebala Diagnostic laparoscopy with biopsy is a useful tool in the diagnosis and staging of abdominal conditions, such as gastric cancer [1,2]. The biopsied tissue should be retrieved and sent to the laboratory in the best conditions, avoiding excessive crushing and lymph node biopsy should provide the whole intact node. To reduce pain and wall complications it would be preferable that the operative ports are 5mm or less. Unfortunately, retrieving a tissue specimen through a small port makes it to be crushed and often not suitable to be analyzed. Moreover, no 5mm laparoscopic bag is commercially available and there is the risk of tumour seeding if the tissue is extracted without a bag.
